World Bank Deposit Insurance Technical Assistance Mission visited Georgia. During the 2 week visit number of important documents was prepared, inter alia, payout policy concept and instruction on verifying data provided by commercial banks; initial analyses of current and projected tendencies of deposits was also conducted.

During the visit, mission expert attended and actively participated in the events organized by the Agency – including the meetings with commercial banks and media representatives. Working meetings were also held at the National Bank of Georgia and the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.

It’s important to mention that Deposit Insurance agency is actively cooperating with international donor organizations. At the initial stage of deposit insurance system implementation, involvement of international organizations is essential for institutional development and capacity building of the Agency.
